I've never been a console person, but always liked the Nintendo's style of bringing affordable and original entertainment systems and titles. The more I've had time to think about Wii, the better it sounds. I have to admit that when I first saw/heard about the controller etc I was a bit suspicious, but I've grown to believe it will bring lot of exciting and innovative games and Mario Strikers Charged seems like one of them. If i'd have to buy only one of the next-gen consoles this would most definetly be the one.

I do think so,Yeah true Siggy Nintendo have always made their consoles very affordable and I thought the same when I first saw the controller at the Tokyo Game show 2005.
The Super mario strikers game will be good I loved the original one on gamecube too!

@Siggy: unfortunately i've always been a console person. I've been playing games since super mario on NES & King's Quest 2 (thereabouts). so i'm pretty sure when i say, PCs just don't do it for me. i look @PC like it's a machine for getting work done. Even when I popped in Wing Commander 3 & saw those great movies, i kept thinking "oh yeah, i need to get that homework assignment done later..." PCs, until they make them small like consoles, will always be thought of as secondary game machines for lots of people.

davedough found the specs to the Wii (courtesy of a leak @IBM.com), and posted them on Afterdawn a few days ago. damn....the specs aren't much higher than GameCube. that has me a bit worried. In some respects, the Wii just feels like a pumped up GameCube with a special controller.

but it's all about the games, though. PS3 games, they look nice, but that $600 could be spent on better stuff. If Nintendo comes through with some great games, i think they have a chance to match up to PS3. But the PS3 games i'm looking at, they blow the fark out of anything i've seen on GameCube or Xbox360.

I'm holding out for atleast a year to get a new system. But in all honesty, if the Wii games are all that i'll get a Wii. For now, my shiny DVD-R, swapmag1c and PS2 are all I need :D
