Many people may have a blurred idea of PMP and PMC. Here I’d like shed some light on this misconception.Portable Media Players( PMP) and Portable Media Centers(PMC) are two similar devices that both allow you to enjoy your digital content on the go.

Portable Media Center(PMC)
Portable Media Center is designed to work seamlessly with Windows XP. It has a unified set of hardware specifications outlined by Microsoft. Its CPU is XScale from Intel and the overall software configuration is Microsoft’s operating system ‘Windows Portable Media Center’ .Instead of using special software, synchronizing your media library to the PMC is done through Microsoft Windows Media Player 10. Using an OS and software that is familiar to many people makes it a bit easier when you're learning how to use the player.

Portable Media Player (PMP)
A Portable Media Player similar to a hard drive based MP3 player, which has a unified hardware specs difined by Microsoft. Its CPU is XScale from Intel and the overall software configuration is Mircosoft’s operating system ‘Windows Portable Media Center’ .It has a open PMC frame. It has a built in colour LCD screen not only for file navigation but also to watch video content. These devices can also be used to view digital images or to store data from your computer.

Though the two players are both portable devices ,but not yet small enough for you to put in your pocket. They both can be twice the size and twice the weight of hard drive-based MP3 players. The screen size on these players is generally about 3.5 inches (measured diagonally).

Both types of players will generally support the more common formats, such as MP3 and WMA audio formats as well as WMV,and MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 for video. While it is always nice to have a player that supports more types of formats since you will not be able to play files that are not supported, things are not always perfect and there are indeed formats they don’t support. So the chore of converting between different format is a must. Here I recommend a soft very powerful to do this conversion work ,imtoo soft, easy to use and low price.

And if you want to know more in this field, click the link( mp4converter) where you will find enormous information.
