how to convert a dvd movie into my hdd so i can play it from my Windows Media Player.

or .vob file(from dvd) converting into mpeg file so i can play it with my Windows Media Player.

oh and any1 know how to use the TMPGEnc?? what format does the file has to be??

I would personally recommend converting your DVD into SuperVCD format which can be played with regular PC _and_ with stand-alone DVD player.

Currently the easiest way to do this is to use SVCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2SVCD pack or VCDGalaxy's Pack. For instructions, this one is for SVCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2SVCD:

...process itself is called "DVD ripping". Encoding your DVD this way takes appx. 1,5GB of HDD space, providing excellent picture quality with correct aspect ratios.

And for TMPGEnc -- basically any regular video format is OK as an input, including DivX (although it's not recommended to encode anything twice as it results horrible quality).
